Security Alert for diecast sellers on our Classified page
We would like to warn users of our classified page about suspicious activity. We have had several reports over the last few months
of "buyers" wishing to purchase a collection which has been posted on the classified page.
These suspicious buyers share these characteristics:
Typically the "buyer" offers to pay more than the asking price.
Offers to pay via a certified or cashiers check.
Offers to come over and pick up or view the collection.
Communication ends abruptly after a few email exchanges.
Email address is from a Yahoo email account.
We have not had any reports of anybody actually getting scammed or anything but the emails from these "buyers" are very suspicious.
Please use caution and your best judgement when dealing with unknown individuals.
Helpful tips:
Do not give out more personal information than is required to complete a transaction.
Do not give out any finacial or bank account information.
If something seems "fishy" it probably is.

Subject: Intrested in your Listed Item..........Diecast Ad on South Philly Diecast
I'm to inform you my intrest in this ur Item on behalf of my client,I based in here in the state,And my client has specificaly given me to placed a quick order for your Item,I hope the Item is still in good condition ?
So whats your final asking price that you want for the Item ? Send me pictures of the Item ,So I need to get in touch with you if you will accept Cashier's Check OR Money Order from my client as a mode of payment.If yes,Send me ur contact NAME and ADDRESS including with your contact PHONE NUMBER,my client is going to send you check of an excess Money,you will deduct ur sale fees in the payment,and u send the excess funds of the remaining money through Western Union Money Transfer to my client shipping Company,The excess money will be use for the shipping company that will come for the pick up of the Merchandise,I will like the CHEQUE to be deposit to your checking bank account same day as u receive it,So would you be able to wire transfer the remaining balance to the shipping company via Western Union Money Transfer after the check might have cleared in your bank and after you might have deducted your own part of the money which is the Item money,So you don't need to arrange for the shipping,since my client will be taking care of the shipment through his
shipping company that will come for the pick up of the Merchandise from your base.
